100 days of geometric fun
The time has come for another round of The 100 Day project!
The idea is to work on a themed creative project for 100 consecutive days and share an image on Instagram each day. The entire community uses the hashtag #the100dayproject to tag each of their photos. This helps anyone interested to find and enjoy the projects being completed. Each individual also creates their own unique “100” hashtag to keep their own body of work sorted.
The project officially starts next Tuesday (April 2nd, 2019).
I am excited to share that my project for this year will be #100daysofgeometricfun. Much like my 2018 project, I plan to use a variety of media and some photos of “found geometry” to complete my 100 days.
I’ve known that I would do this project again since the end of last year and the question of what my project would look like has been swimming quietly in the back of my head for most of that time.
As the new year rolled around, I knew that I wanted to explore a single topic with varying media again. I needed a focus that was broad enough to allow room for interpretation x 100 and also something that would keep my overall project cohesive. A search through my various Pinterest boards eventually brought me to the idea of exploring geometric shapes. This clicked with me and here we are.
I have a rough “idea list” with about 25 projects that I would like to create and share.
Beyond that, it will be all discovery. That is the part of this project that is good-scary. With little time for turnaround, I will need to come up with 75 more ideas. It makes me vulnerable and applies some pressure that is good for the creative part of my brain.
And if you are embarking on your own 100 days, please leave me a comment here or on my Insta feed so I can follow you back!
